Creek Ohtaoja

Season: 1.5. – 30.9. (fishing of grayling prohibited in May)
Nature of area: small sized creek fishing area
Situated: Beside the road N861, leading from Jurmu to Posio. About 16km from the main road Oulu-Kuusamo (Nr. 20).



Area: The Creek Ohtaoja is a springlike tributary of river Iijoki, in the past famous as a place for sea trout spawning.  The best fishing is 2.5km downstream from the fish farm, and on river Iijoki 2km downstream from Ohtaoja estuary.  The 5-7 metre wide river winds between pine clad ridges.  Travelling is easy along fishermen’s paths.  There are several lead-to shelters and campfire sites.
