My little Mökki is a comfortable and all equipped traditional wooden cabin situated 30 minutes from Taivalkoski city center.
Facing the lake of Kylmäluoma, this cabin will offer you a peaceful and close-to-nature cocoon for your holidays, close to the beautiful Kylmäluoma Natural Reserve hiking trails, or Julmä Olkky Canyon, and 45 minutes from Hossa National Park or Kuusamo city.
It is a 30 square meter cabin, perfect for 2 guests with a possibility of 4 guests. The cabin comprises a living room including a dining area, a kitchen and a sleeping area (1 mezzanine double-bed accessible with a ladder and a convertible sofa), and 1 comfortable wood-heated sauna. The cabin is equipped with an outdoor dry toilet.
The cabin is suitable for winter use; it has electricity and is heated by a wood-burning stove and a heated floor. There's no running water. We'll provide you with drinking water and you'll fetch your own water from the lake for washing in the privacy of the sauna.
In front of the cabin, a beautiful space lets you enjoy the outdoors in summer and winter, with a convivial fireplace and a dock for fishing or admiring the northern lights.
Own outdoor parking space on site (you can plug in your electric car or vehicle heating system).
You'll have your independence regarding access to the cabin and grounds. We have a small pack of 5 happy huskies. They live in a big park close to the cabin, and you can come and cuddle them if you feel like it!
Some equipment for winter/summer outdoor activities:
- 1 Canoe / Canadian rowboat (3 persons)
- Snowshoes (that you can borrow to visit the local parks)
- Ice fishing equipment and casting fishing gear (rods and drill)
- Ice saw (to make your natural ice bath and take a dip)
- A small smoker (to smoke your meat and fish over the fire)
