A stunning traditional log cabin with a veranda and a cosy open-plan kitchen and living area. Completed in December 2020, the cabin is situated in a peaceful location, with the nearest neighbour 1 km away. It features underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove and an air-source heat pump. The cabin sleeps up to eight guests.
There is a large traditional Finnish barbecue hut in the grounds, which guests are welcome to use. The nearest lake, Jokijärvi, is 600 metres away and has a beach and a rowing boat. The cabin has direct access to an official snowmobile trail. The Simosenpolku hiking trail passes right by the property, and a maintained connecting trail provides access to the local cross-country skiing network. Kallioniemi, the childhood home and museum of Finnish author Kalle Päätalo, is approximately 3 km away.
Originally built as a hunting club lodge, the cabin has a distinctive interior that tastefully combines old and new materials. The spacious open-plan kitchen and living area is suitable for meetings and celebrations for larger groups while also providing a comfortable setting for families and smaller parties. The characterful sauna features a wood-burning sauna stove and a traditional wood-fired water heater.
The Kylmäluoma Hiking Area is 25 km away. This is an excellent destination for anyone seeking peace, nature and outdoor activities, with plenty to do throughout the year.
Hunting and fishing permits are available upon request—please enquire when making your booking. Guests staying at the cabin may obtain hunting permits for the hunting club’s privately owned land. The property also has an outdoor hot tub, available for an additional fee.
Please note that bed linen is not provided, and guests are responsible for cleaning the cabin before departure. Final cleaning can be booked for €100 by contacting the host.
