Located in the northeastern part of the municipality, the total size of the hiking area is 70 km2. The terrain mostly consists of rugged pine forests, with high ridges rising above clear waters. The area has remnants of agriculture and logging, as well as structures related to reindeer husbandry. Kylmäluoma provides great opportunities for recreational activities in nature, such as fishing, hunting and hiking. The length of the hiking trail network is 54 km, with campfire sites and huts along the routes.
